| Northwest Development Agency
The Agency’s main role is to drive forward the economic regeneration of the Northwest through encouraging the integration of funding regimes and coherence of the delivery of national, regional and local expenditure programmes. The NWDA acts as advocate for the Northwest, forging a clear identity for the region through lobbying for resources and investment whilst supporting and maintaining partnerships, joining up initiatives and making the best use of the region’s resources. Through these initiatives, NWDA is now firmly established and well positioned to provide the region and partners with the leadership to bring about economic growth and prosperity. The NWDA’s budget is currently £276m and will reach £300m by 2004. Working in conjunction with offices in all five Counties of the Northwest, providing practical solutions to local problems, the Agency directly influences £1.5 billion of economically focused expenditure every year in support of the delivery of the regional economic strategy.
